Co-op

When I think in Social Business the first thing in my mind are cooperatives, at least in my country Argentina, they are quite popular.

When a factory declare bankruptcy, workers without a job now decide together create a co-op doing the same thing or start to do another kind of job.

This is the example of "New mind" cooperative. They were unemployed garbage collectors, and decided to open their own center with government help.They sort the waste and then add value through shredding, compacting, etc and sell them to other companies.

It was a really nice work with them under the project "production optimization" when I was studied in a diploma course of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development from Engineers without Borders

We recommended how to change the flow of materials would make their work more efficient.

Also a lot of basic tips to improve employee safety.
